Welcome! Thanks for stopping by and considering us when thinking about charitable giving!
Simcoe Community Services Foundation (SCSF) is a registered charity created to raise funds to improve the quality of life for individuals with intellectual disabilities. We directly support the activities of Simcoe Community Services (SCS) which was established in 1953 by concerned parents wishing to offer their children with intellectual disabilities an alternative to institutional placement.
Simcoe Community Services does an incredible job managing the Government funding provided to deliver the services they do. Where funding is not available, and your support is much needed, is with the purchasing of accessibility equipment, covering the cost of specialized housing needs, assisting families with respite, sending children to camp, providing youth with skills development, as well as offering adults and seniors recreational and leisure activities.
Donations such as yours give people of all abilities the opportunity to be included in their community. Confidence, independence, self-esteem, freedom of choice, health and vitality, personal joy, friendships, social skills, inclusion and self-expression; these are just a few of the benefits we’ve witnessed as a result of donor generosity!
So, how can you help? Here are a few ways:
- Donate! Whether it’s $20 or $200, every penny helps. Just $12.50 a month pays for a child to go to March Break Youth Camp! If donating is an option for you, just click the red ‘Donate Now’ button on the left near the top of this page.
- Volunteer! We are always looking for volunteers to help with our signature events. Check out the volunteer page for additional details by clicking here.
- Sponsor a Signature Event! Our Fashion Show and Golf Tournament are both in their 21st year! Join us Thursday April 21st at The Ranch in Barrie for the Fashion Show and on Friday June 17th at Hawk Ridge Golf and Country Club in Orillia for our Golf Tournament. Details on our EVENTS pages (see menu in the yellow bar above).
