Ways To Give

  • Monthly Giving

Monthly donations provide consistent financial support to the Simcoe Community Services Foundation (SCSF), and make your donation go further in supporting infants, children and adults living with intellectual disabilities in Simcoe community. Through our pre-authorized giving program, you can pledge your support on a monthly basis, receive a valuable tax receipt and incorporate your charitable giving into your monthly financial plan.

  • Donations in Honour of Celebrations

Birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions are all about celebrating life and its many milestones!  There’s no better way to celebrate life itself, than to honour a loved one or a special day by making a difference in the lives of those living with intellectual disabilities.

  • Celebrate the arrival of a new baby or a birthday,  by honouring those close to you through a donation on their behalf, to the Simcoe Community Services Foundation.
  • Pay special recognition to a teacher, coach, or just someone close to your heart and let them know they’re appreciated, by making a tribute donation in their honour.

Simcoe Community Services Foundation will send a card with your personal message to the recipient of your choice.

  • In Memoriam Gifts

Remember a loved one by making a donation in his or her memory to the Simcoe Community Services Foundation. A memorial gift is a wonderful way to honour life, express sympathy and contribute to an important cause.

You will receive a tax receipt for your generous support, and the SCS Foundation will acknowledge your thoughtful gift by sending a card with your personal message to the bereaved family or recipient of your choice.

  • Planned Giving - Making a Lasting Difference

By making a planned gift to Simcoe Community Services Foundation you can help now and beyond your lifetime. You can make a lasting difference, just like others, who have made a generous charitable gift  through their Will to ensure ongoing support for their loved ones and others.

Bill’s mother, Marjorie, passed away in 2007.  Her Will included a significant bequest of support to the Foundation.  Funds from this bequest pay for a number of projects that enhance the quality of life for those who need it most.

Bill’s sister Joan commented “this is one way to continue to support quality care for loved ones at Simcoe Community Services, even after you’re gone.”

As part of your long-term financial planning, a planned gift can offer you substantial tax and estate planning benefits, allowing you to make a larger, lasting gift to Simcoe Community Services Foundation.

It can be a gift Simcoe Community Services Foundation receives now, or in the future. It’s a way for you to be a key Simcoe Community Services Foundation supporter while meeting your own personal financial goals.

A decision to make a planned gift is based on your unique circumstances. We can provide general information, but you should consult your financial planner or lawyer for specific advice. Our staff will be delighted to work with you and your advisors to arrange a gift that best suits your objectives.

  • Give As You Live

Did you know that you can help the people we support simply by shopping? Each time you purchase products and collect Shopper Optimum Points or Aeroplan miles, you can donate those points to the Simcoe Community Services Foundation.

By donating some, or all, of your Shoppers Optimum Points or Aeroplan Miles, donors are making it possible for Simcoe Community Services to redeem the points toward purchases of products and supplies used for ongoing programming and fundraising activities. The donated Aeroplan Miles may also be used in conjuction with fundraising events. In some cases, Aeroplan Miles may go directly to helping an individual in dire need of assistance for medical purposes or a family emergency. Similarly, Shoppers Optimum Points can be redeemed for products needed by individuals on a very limited income.
To donate your Shoppers Optimum Points, please visit:

  • Bradford Greenhouses Fundraising Program

From April 15th through to October 15th, 5% of the purchases* our supporters make at Bradford Greenhouses will help us raise money to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities.

How does it work?

When you shop at either the Barrie or the Bradford locations of Bradford Greenhouses, advise the cashier, prior to inputting your sale that “you support Simcoe Community Services” and they will automatically calculate 5% back to us.

With the support of many incredible gardeners in 2014 we raised over $500 on this initiative.  Please help us reach $800 goal in the 2015 year. We auction off the gift card we receive in order to raise more funds for our charitable work.   No need to buy anything extra, just mention our name before they start ringing your order through the register.

*Exclusions include:  purchase of gift certificates, taxes and any other offers including “Grow for the Green”

  • Celebrate Weddings

We can create personalized place cards for each guest or a single card for the centre of each table or guestbook, to let your guests know you of the gift you have made in their honour.

In Lieu of Wedding Gifts. For couples that are looking to contribute in other ways, ask your guests to make a donation to SCSF instead of purchasing wedding gifts. We can create cards to include in your wedding invitations acknowledging your generous request. Guests can conveniently make their donations online or by mail.
